Successful operation of Axens’ units and digitalization at the ERC refinery

All Axens’ units of the Egyptian Refining Company (ERC) refinery project are now successfully operating and reaching full production and performances. The refinery produces Euro 5 refined products, including diesel and jet fuel, for Egyptian local market by processing annually 4.7 million tons of mainly atmospheric residue from the Cairo Oil Refinery Company.

Axens’ recent Successes in Hydrocracking

Hydrocracking is one of the major processes in refining converting, in presence of hydrogen, low-value heavy feedstock into high value clean fuels and saturated naphtha. It contributes greatly to the refinery cash flow and flexibility through the cycles and it is becoming an instrumental process for naphtha production as a premium feedstock for crude to petrochemical complexes.

Marathon Petroleum Corporation (MPC) has implemented Axens’ Connect’InTM services for real-time process monitoring and optimization of multiple Continuous Catalytic Regenerative (CCR) Reformers and multiple Prime-G+ FCC gasoline post-treatment units across their refining network. MPC was an early-adopter of the Connect’InTM platform, and the two organizations have since collaborated to improve unit performance and utilized the tool’s cloud-based, simple web interface to improve decision making and technical service support.

Axens signs a contract with MOL Group for a real-time monitoring service of units powered by OSIsoft technologies

Axens announces that it has signed a contract with MOL Group for its Danube Refinery to develop a cloud-based real-time
monitoring unit as part of Connect‘In™, a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), developed by Axens and supported by OSIsoft® technologies. The project was encouraged by MOL’s ability to implement OSIsoft innovations successfully in the past. The main goal of the agreement is to support the MOL refinery with an intensified technical assistance service for review of catalyst performances and unit profitability.
