Empowering Every Employee

We want everyone at the company to feel that they belong and are valued in a fulfilling job that gives them purpose. Here are some of the ways we put that into practice.

Targeting Gender Equality

Axens has reached to set its first target for women to make up at least 40% of its Executive Committee. Next step: 30% of women within its Leadership Team by 2029.. We support talent development for women employees through dedicated training programs, mentoring schemes, and initiatives such as TW’In, our professional network for women. We also target the development of younger generations, working alongside non-profit partners such as "Elles Bougent" (Women in Motion) to encourage female students to explore careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). Today, over 30 mentors from Axens regularly visit local middle schools to meet and inspire students.

Furthering Disability Inclusion

With the support of our ‘Mission Handicap’ in France, we are taking action to raise awareness and improve our collective understanding of disability, notably through regular, immersive workshops and specific exhibitions for our employees. These range from round table discussions to ¬role-playing activities and informal exchanges with our two paralympic athlete partners, Maxime Thomas and Manon Genest. We’re also making these workshops accessible to schools near our offices and worksites, helping combat misconceptions from even younger ages. Our commitment doesn’t stop at the company’s doors.

Valuing Difference

Respect is the bedrock of a positive work culture. We are a multicultural company, which means we celebrate the backgrounds, perspectives, and identities that make each of us unique. As we are equally a multigenerational company, events that involve younger workers, such as Millennials Day, are held to promote and translate their ideas into actions.

Encouraging Everyone’s Voice

Through employee-led internal networks on a range of issues (TW’In for women professionals, Entr’Aidants to share support for those in caregiving situations, PlaNet’ for those interested in taking their commitment to the environment one step further, to name just a few), everyone can find their place and thrive. These employee resource groups provide a supportive community, allowing individuals to connect, learn and grow together. They offer a space where everyone can have an impact.

Life at Axens

I am working with colleagues from various cultural background: everyone brings to the table different perspective and way of thinking, which creates a dynamic and interesting work environment. It has helped to develop my intercultural communication skills and adaptability in various situations. During a client meeting, I greeted our clients with a few Arabic words which I have learnt from a colleague this helped break the ice in the meeting room!

Alongside the actions already undertaken, we aim to tirelessly strengthen awareness, to shift perceptions, recruit and train to foster growth and support those experiencing challenges due to temporary or permanent disabilities.

I studied chemistry with the intention of working in the predominantly female world of cosmetics. My journey and the opportunities at Axens led me in the complete opposite direction!
