India’s largest Commercial Organisation IndianOil Opts for Axens’ AlphaButol® Technology

An Alphabutol® unit of 20,000 tons per annum capacity will be incorporated in IOCL’s Panipat naphtha cracker complex situated in the state of Haryana. Panipat is the location of IndianOil’s most state-of-the-art refinery and India’s largest naphtha steam cracker.

Based on homogeneous catalysis and associated to a low investment cost, the AlphaButol® technology is designed and optimized to ensure a flexible and reliable source of high quality 1-Butene, a co-monomer for downstream Polymer units.

This unit is one of three AlphaButols® recently licensed in India.
