In order to remove sulfur compounds, Axens offers a wide portfolio of dedicated products that can be regenerated in situ or used as guard beds depending on impurities concentrations and applications.
Non-regenerative Adsorbents
Based on a long-year know how and an extensive R&D work, Axens offers a wide range of adsorbents for sulfur removal. AxTrap™ portfolio contains more than 15 references of non-regenerative products that are specifically tailored for each stream and application.
These products allow removal of different sulfur compounds including H2S, mercaptans, COS, sulfides, disulfides, thiophenes with the ability of achieving ultra-low specifications.
AxTrap™ 401
AxTrap™ 401 is specifically designed to ensure high-efficiency removal of H2S from syngas, natural gas, hydrogen or ethylene streams.
AxTrap™ 405
AxTrap™ 405 is specifically designed for naphtha treatment units upstream of catalytic reformers or isomerization units. It provides an efficient removal of H2S, mercaptans, sulfides and thiophenes.
AxTrap™ 407
AxTrap™ 407 is designed to maximize the pick-up capacity of H2S and mercaptans from gases at ambient to low temperatures.
AxTrap™ 409
AxTrap™ 409 is designed to maximize the pick-up capacity of H2S, COS and mercaptans from gases at ambient to low temperatures.
AxTrap™ 4000 scavengers series: AxTrap™ 4142, AxTrap™ 4503 & AxTrap™ 4513
Removal of H2S, light mercaptans, and heavy mercaptans from dry or wet gas streams (natural gas, CO2).

Regenerative Adsorbents
Based on a long-year experience and an extensive R&D work, Axens offers a wide range of adsorbents for sulfur removal based on regenerative products.
These products are mainly used for purification of gas and liquid streams with the possibility of thermal regeneration in order to deal with low to moderate sulfur contents. Axens products are optimized in order to achieve the highest lifetime even with an important number of regenerations.
AxSorb® 541
AxSorb® 541 is a regenerative molecular sieve for adsorption of polar molecules.
This product is efficient in removal of water, CO2, H2S and methanol from gas and liquid streams. AxSorb® 541 can be used to achieve simultaneously the dehydration and purification of natural gas in order to reach ultra-low water dew points and sulfur/CO2 specifications (expected for LNG applications for instance).
AxSorb® 543
AxSorb® 543 is a regenerative molecular sieve for adsorption of polar molecules.
This product is efficient in removal of water, CO2, H2S and methanol from gas and liquid streams. AxSorb® 543 can be used to achieve simultaneously the dehydration and purification of natural gas in order to reach ultra-low water dew points and sulfur/CO2 specifications (expected for LNG applications for instance).
AxSorb® 951
AxSorb® 951 is a regenerative molecular sieve for adsorption of polar molecules.
This product is commonly used for sweetening of natural gas, NGL and LPG. This product can also be proposed for hydrogen purification, particularly by pressure swing adsorption (PSA).
AxSorb® 911
AxSorb® 911 is a regenerative molecular sieve for adsorption of polar molecules from natural gas, LPGs, NGL, olefins, air etc.
It features a very high selectivity towards a large range of molecules (sulfur, oxygenates and nitrogen compounds), and a high adsorption capacity even at low impurity concentrations.
AxSorb® 913
AxSorb® 913 is a regenerative molecular sieve for adsorption of polar molecules from natural gas, LPGs, NGL, olefins, air, etc.
It features a very high selectivity towards a large range of molecules (sulfur, oxygenates and nitrogen compounds), and a high adsorption capacity even at low impurity concentrations.
AxSorb® 902
AxSorb® 902 is the newest generation adsorbent for reduced reactivity towards olefins.
The most common application of these products is removal of trace impurities including oxygenates, nitrogen and sulfur compounds from olefin streams.
AxSorb® 980
AxSorb® 980 is a promoted adsorbent especially developed for removal of CO2, COS, CS2 and other sulfur species from gas and liquid hydrocarbon streams.
AxSorb® 980 is also a catalyst of low temperature COS hydrolysis.
AxSorb® 984
AxSorb® 984 is a best-in-class regenerative promoted adsorbent especially developed to exhibit high capacities for removal of CO2, COS and other sulfur species from gas and liquid hydrocarbon streams.
