Benzene production

Benzene is largely used in petrochemical industries with plenty of different applications. The thermal hydrodealkylation (HDA) process is the most attractive route to high purity benzene production from toluene, ethylbenzene and mixed xylenes and even C9-C11 aromatics.

Hydrodealkylation (HDA)

Axens Thermal Hydrodealkylation (HDA) is a non-catalytic process that achieves nearly theoretical benzene yields. Axens’ proprietary know-how plug-flow reactor minimizes side reactions and results efficient in both yield and energy consumption.

More than 35 plants have been licensed worldwide for processing a variety of feedstocks including toluene, mixed aromatics, reformate and pyrolysis gasoline
